Review
What luck, to have a second concert by this really great Beatles tribute band so soon after seeing them in Abington, and again within reasonable driving distance.
I saw my third Paul in the three times I have seen Studio Two. This fellow looked the part and did the moves well, but didn't sound as much like the real Paul as the others I have seen. Ringo was back to the original performer we saw at Chatham First Night on Dec. 31, 2018. We sat in front of the stage with our friends George and Sheryl, who had plans to attend a show by the well-known Beatles tribute band Rain at a larger venue in Boston next week. I think the popularity of Beatles tributes band is a wonderful thing. I'm fortunate to have seen the real George at the Boston Garden in the 1970s and the real Ringo in Connecticut a few years ago, but I never saw The Beatles, so seeing an authentic and musically superb tribute band like these guys is a great thing.
The audience at these shows are very lively; there was a lot of singing along and dancing. The set list varied somewhat from the show we saw in Abington last week, for which I give Stephen and Robert Murray (John and George) and their musical colleagues credit. It would be really easy to play the exact same set of songs every time, but it's clear that these musicians genuinely love the Beatles songs and want to play as many of them as they can fit in. The only real difference was the encore was a little shorter.
This venue was by a pretty lake with an ice cream truck and plenty of parking. The weather again was just perfect for an outdoor summer show. This was the final show of the season for this outdoor series, and I'm sure I'll be back next summer if they book this dynamo quartet again.
