Studio Two ~ 2026 July 27 ~ Catherine and Joseph Nisby Bandstand , Abington, MA Videos
She Loves You
I Want To Be Your Man
I Want To Hold Your Hand
Review Lucky me, I got to see Studio Two - The Beatles Tribute for the second time in two weeks. This time it was at the Catherine and Joseph Nisby Bandstand in Abington, MA, a weekly series put on by the Abington Summer Concerts. These four talented musicians play the right instruments, wear the right clothes (with a costume change at intermission), talk with the right English accents, and display a bit of a cheeky attitude, so that you can suspend your disbelief and for two hours think you've taken the wayback machine to see the real Beatles in the early parts of their career. The show, in other words, is a bit of theater as well as a lot of great music. I have seen this band at this outdoor venue four times and I think it's one of the best places to see them. Free admission, good food for sale (hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream), dancing area off to the side of the stage (so the dancers don't block anybody's view), a hill that rises going away from the stage so that everybody gets a great view, plenty of parking, indoor bathrooms, and an easy drive from our home on the Cape up Rte. 18. And the closeup photos of Ringo make it look as if he's playing in a forest. It was a pleasantly cool Sunday evening. The show started at 6 pm. It turns out the band has played here every year since twins Stephen Murray ("John") and Rob Murray ("George") started a band celebrating the pure joy of the early Beatles thirteen years ago. It is the second venue where I saw them after I first discovered them at First Night Chatham back in 2019. Highly recommended!
