The Spider and the Fly (The Rolling Stones)

Linda and Manny Dias are a married couple who play a wide range of covers from the rock 'n roll era, and even some going back to the '20s. They play mostly songs that will be familiar to the audience, which is where they chose their name, although they don't always play the best known song by a well-known performer (the video of "Spider and the Fly" by the Rolling Stones is an example of this). They played songs by Johnny Cash - Dylan - Beatles - Rolling Stones - Buddy Holly - Jimmy Buffett - Emerson Lake and Palmer - Tom Petty - Elvis - Neil Young - Buffalo Springfield - Beach Boys - and numerous other bands.

I enjoyed the show a good deal. The songs for the most part were upbeat examples of the catalogs of these various famous musical stars, and in many cases Linda and Manny sped up the original or played it in a more lively way. Neil Young's "Long May You Run" was a good example of this.

There was rain in the forecast, but it luckily held off until just about the end of Linda and Manny's 90 minute set. It was actually a bit cold! (Cold - this summer there hasn't been much of that.)
